A full eighteen hole true Championship Course of 6,835 yards (par 70 S.S.S. 74) awaits you with none of the modern water hazards but ninety four bunkers of local sand and long carries over punishing swathes of heather. As a general rule we are renowned for our 'most excellent' greens and a long, demanding turn for home. Very rarely will your ‘second half’ score better the first.
The course record was lowered to 64 in 2006 by eighteen year old Darren Wright of Rowlands Castle, Hampshire, when triumphant in the Carris Trophy (English Boys Amateur Stroke Play Championships). A very memorable event and a name to remember for the future. With such a treasured asset, the Greens Committee strive to maintain standards of excellence with their strategic long term planning. For instance you will notice our flock of sheep grazing on the outer limits devouring forestation which would otherwise impact on the course. You will also be warmly greeted on arrival at our traditional clubhouse and the renovated first tee area.
